Privacy and saved drafts
This version of CV Perfector creates your CV in your browser. It does not require an account and does not send your CV text, uploaded photos, pasted documents, or job descriptions to a server or AI service.
What stays in your browser
Your drafts, optional photos, and design settings are saved using browser local storage when it is available. This is automatic. Drafts are associated with this website address, browser profile, and device. They do not synchronize across devices or browsers. Private browsing, browser settings, or clearing site data can remove them.
Local storage is not an encrypted vault. Someone using the same browser profile may be able to open your drafts. The site will show a warning if it cannot save; you can still create and download your CV.
Downloads are personal files
Word files, PDFs, text files, and JSON backups contain the information you entered. Store them somewhere appropriate and check which file you are sharing. A backup includes hidden sections, design settings, and any saved photo, even when the current layout does not display it; it is intended for editing later, rather than for sending to an employer.
Optional photos
PNG/JPEG photos are cropped and resized on your device. They are saved with your local draft and JSON backup. Switching to a non-photo layout hides the photo from the CV export but keeps it available for later editing. To delete it from a draft, choose Photo or Studio sidebar and select “Remove photo.” Files you already downloaded keep their original contents.
Using a shared computer
- Download the CV and backup files you need.
- Open Save & manage and select “Delete all saved data.” This removes this project’s saved drafts, including data from the previous version.
- Remove personal downloads from the shared computer if appropriate. The website cannot delete files you already downloaded.
- If deletion is blocked, clear this website’s data through your browser settings.
Connections and hosting
The distributed site uses local scripts, fonts already installed on your device, and no built-in analytics, advertising, external font service, or tracking cookies. Your hosting provider may keep standard server access logs, such as requests and IP addresses. These are separate from CV draft storage.
If an operator adds analytics, accounts, remote storage, or another integration, this information must be updated to reflect those changes.
Keep sensitive information out
Do not put passwords, government identity numbers, confidential client or student information, or another person’s private details in your CV. Share only what is appropriate for the application.
